Donna, Tim, Steve and David
Donna, a certified Iyengar instructor and the owner of STUDIO 87 has been involved in Iyengar Yoga since 1995 . She started taking yoga class as part of a rehab routine to treat a bilateral knee injury. During this process she discovered that Iyengar Yoga not only helped with the physical injury, it also had a profound calming affect on the mind and the nervous system. These combined experiences led to a complete recovery and an interest in deepening her understanding of the practice and teaching.
Opening her studio in December 2001 bringing Iyengar Yoga to Duluth in order to teach and share the many benefits of the Iyengar system. While her teaching style is light and compassionate with a sense of humor woven into the fabric of any class, her demand for detail, attention, dedication & passion is tremendous.
Donna studies with her teachers here in Atlanta regularly as well as studying with senior teachers across the country. While paying close attention to her ongoing and never ending education process, she is considering her next level of certification.
Honored and grateful to be accepted to the Rammamani Iyengar Memorial Yoga Institute (RIMYI) in Pune, India she spent one month studying in 2005, 2007, 2009 & 2013 with Geeta and Prasant Iyengar. Looking forward to a return in 2017.
